ADOPTION SPRINT

Design reasons to return.
Build the rhythms that make usage stick and ship them.

£25,000 | 4 weeks

Great, your product cleared the first-use hurdle. People signed up, logged in, or tried it once. Then usage thins. By week four or week eight, the numbers slide. The behaviour you built for never becomes routine.

The Adoption Sprint solves that gap. In four weeks we:

  • Map the value moments that give people a reason to return

  • Write the prompts, recovery paths, and manager scripts that reinforce them

  • Ship 2–4 live patterns into product or rollout flows

  • Install a simple weekly cadence, with a named owner and clear targets

You leave with adoption running as a system, not a one-off push.

You leave with adoption running as a system, not a one-off push.

Choose this if:

  • Usage spikes in week one, then fades at weeks 4/8/12

  • People log in but skip the actions that drive value

  • Renewal or upgrade is coming, and depth is shallow

  • Internal roll-out: small groups adopt, others slip back to the old way

  • You want a plan and execution, not just recommendations

Why Alterkind

We’ve worked with teams where adoption looked fine on day one but slipped by week four. What held was never “more comms” or “one more feature.” It was a system: clear reasons to return, small routines that normalise them, and a cadence that keeps decisions moving.

That’s what we design. And that’s why Adoption Sprints leave teams with live patterns, not just recommendations.

What happens next?

Week 0 | Prep
We keep it simple: paperwork, a quick data export or read-only access, plus a Loom of the journey and any prompts or comms you already use.

Week 1 | Design the return
We start with a 45-minute kickoff to confirm the journey and audience, and to lock success metrics. Then we map the value moments, define the cues, prompts, and recovery paths, and draft the first version of the Reason-to-Return Plan.

Week 2 | Make it normal
This is where we build the Make-it-Normal Kit: the routines, scripts, and “when X then Y” rules that turn usage into habit. We also write 2–4 experiment cards, set cohort targets, and finalise the dashboard spec.

Week 3 | Ship & start the rhythm
Together we support the implementation of chosen patterns and tests: copy, timing, exposure. At the same time, we help your owner start the weekly cadence: a short 15–30 minute slot where numbers are reviewed and decisions made.

Week 4 | Readout & handover
We run a readout to adjust patterns and routines, confirm owners and alerts, and close with the full Handover Pack and a 90-day plan you can run without us.

What you get in the Adoption Sprint

  • Reason-to-Return Plan
Value moments, prompt timing, recovery paths, and stop/start rules for one journey.

  • Make-it-Normal Kit
Manager routines, short scripts, and “when X then Y” operating rules that keep the behaviour going.

  • 2–4 Experiment Cards
Hypothesis, metric, sample/stop rules, copy/flow changes, expected ranges.

  • Handover Pack
Owners, cadences, governance (what to stop/keep), and a 90-day plan.

Who it’s for

  • Product leaders raising retention and depth on a live product or feature

  • Change/Transformation leads making a new tool the normal way of working

  • Teams facing renewal or pricing change who need usage steady by week eight

  • Feature owners of high-value features (NRR / time-saved drivers) with low repeat

What's not included

Net-new feature builds, rebrands, heavy research projects, or long-term ops. We focus on small, high-leverage changes that move behaviour now.

FAQs

Our analytics are messy, can this still work?
Yes. We can work from exports or proxies. If needed, we add Instrumentation & Scoreboard (1 week, £6k) to get clean events and cohorts in place.

How is this different from marketing comms?
We design in-product reasons to return and the weekly rhythm that sustains them. Comms supports the effort but product and routine are what hold it.

Legal is cautious about consent changes, what then?
We provide compliant alternatives and a clear repair path. If documentation is required, we add an Ethical Review (1 week, £2k).

Multi-locale roll-out?
Yes. We localise timing and channels, and write copy in plain English so your translation stays clean.

Genuinely blew us away. Full of ‘why didn’t we think of that?’ moments.
